January is one of the most comfortable times to visit Egypt. In Cairo, daytime temperatures typically range from 65–70°F (18–21°C), making it ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities. Evenings and early mornings can be cooler, with temperatures dropping to around 50°F (10°C), so we recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater for added comfort.
There is moderate walking throughout the retreat, particularly at archaeological sites, temples, gardens, and markets. Comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended.
We recommend lightweight clothing for daytime, a light sweater or jacket for evenings, comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, a reusable water bottle, modest clothing for certain cultural sites, and any personal medications.
